February 11, 10:00 a.m. UMW will be meeting at Rockdale for a brief meeting then to set up for our annual Valentine’s Brunch.
East Central District Spiritual Retreat-April 20-21
Mark your calendar now and plan on attending this event beginning at 9:00 a.m. Friday till noon on Saturday. Come just for the day or stay all night. Overnight stay is $20.00; Friday dinner-$8.00, Saturday breakfast-$6.00.
Theme of the retreat is “Forgiveness.” We will have Bible study, interaction time, a mission project to help young girls attending school in Africa, food and fellowship as well as some socializing and music. Come for part or for all. Registration forms will be available soon on the mission table. Pictured Rocks has been remodeled beautifully!!
United Methodist Women will be having a Lenten Study beginning the Wednesday, February 29 and continuing the following three Wednesdays from 1-2:30 at Grand View UMC for anyone who would like to spend some extra time tine the Word of God. Both MEN and women are encouraged to attend.
March 8 marks the anniversary of the Chinese Women’s Human Rights Event.
We will be opening the church at Rockdale from 9:30 with a short program from 10-10:30 presented by joint UMW members in Dubuque and some worship to commemorate the importance of this event for our sisters who still do not have the freedoms we in the US experience. Let’s gather together to pray for those who still are not allowed to own property, vote or have any influence on what’s happens in their lives.
