Our Ministries Include
WOW (WEAVE on Wednesdays): A much needed ministry directed towards 3 year olds through 5th graders. Every Wednesday night 5pm at Rockdale UMC we have WEAVE. Based on Scripture Psalm 139: 1:13-18 we pray to help this community of God's children know and believe that they are wonderfully made and perfectly loved by the creator our God, our Father.
Every week we have Bible Study, crafts, games, and music.
Free will offering dinner at 6:20pm for the children, parents/gardians, church members or neighbors who wish to be a part of this ministry.
Youth Group: Every Sunday night at Grand View UMC from 6:30-8 pm, we play, sing, have snacks, and a devotion.
United Methodist Women: UMW is a group of women who join together to continue their calling of missions for a world that suffers. They meet once a month for fellowship, determine the missions they will become involved in and plan various events to be held at both church campus'. These women devote their love and energy in helping those in need. Contact person - Joyce Watters 582-9046 for Rockdale
Helping Hands Ministry: This ministry is a group of men and women who call upon others that may be in need of transportation to doctors/hospital/nursing homes, or in need of someone to sit with them in the hospital/doctor office waiting rooms. They also call upon those who may be home sick or going through difficult times just let them know we care and are here to help them in whatever way we can; be it through prayer, communication, transportation, running errands for them. Volunteering at Global Goods: Volunteers help out at a local Fair Trade Goods store in Dubuque, IA in assisting with retail.
Ministry with Sunnycrest Residents: Residents meet at Rockdale a few times a year for BINGO, Thanksgiving dinner in December and a picnic with games in June
